Code of Conduct

The +SocialGood community welcomes changemakers to convene and work within their local communities to bring together people for action on social good causes and to share their conversations with the global community. As members of the +SocialGood community, changemakers and local leaders agree to a code of conduct as they work in collaboration with +SocialGood to make the world a better place. They agree to the following:  

  • Supporting the United Nations and working towards achieving the 17 Sustainable Development Goals 

  • Conducting local activities according to internationally accepted good governance standards, including adhering to sound financial practices and regulatory compliance

  • Fostering an inclusive, equitable, transparent, consensus oriented, participatory environment for all 

  • Ensuring all activities are compliant with relevant local laws and regulations

  • Ensuring all activities are conducted in a manner which is determined to be safe, respectful, non-discriminatory, and appropriate for all participants 

  • Avoiding lobbying and engaging in political advocacy on behalf of +SocialGood or the UN Foundation  

  • Keeping discussions focused on non-political analysis of development work and the United Nations

  • Avoiding engaging in or partnering with organizations or groups that participate in the following high-risk industries:

    • Agribusiness

    • Alcohol producers and distributors

    • Breast Milk Substitutes

    • Chemicals

    • Forestry

    • Oil and Gas

    • Pharmaceuticals

    • Power

    • Mining

    • Health-harming food and beverage production

    • Weapons

  • Obtaining written permission to use the +SocialGood and UN Foundation brands, including names and logos 

  • Informing the UN Foundation of all television and/or high-profile events highlighting the UN Foundation or +SocialGood
